It has had mixed reviews since launch along with indifferent TV ratings.

However, ESPN executive Burke Magnus has hinted ‘They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce‘ could be extended.

The show premiered on 3 January to an underwhelming response by viewers at home.

“This is not something I think would work with just anyone,” Burke told The New York Times, however.

“But he’s one of those guys that I believe can pull it off.

“For me, it’s going to be a little bit more art than science

“Do people think it’s good and funny?

“Does it have the potential to grow?’

The talk show gets its name from Daniel Letterman’s legendary late-night offering.

It is understood to have gained only 290,000 viewers for its first episode.

ESPN had 700,000 watching the same slot two weeks earlier.

However, its ratings increased after, with 881,000 watching the second showing.

    The third bought in 356,000.

It is not known whether the issues are down to the late start at 1am, or content itself.

But viewers have suggested the quality of the show is not up to standard.

“It’s the worst show in history,” one person even called it.

ESPN and Kelce confirmed they will make a decision on its final future once its five-week trial run is finished.

The Super Bowl-winning NFL legend is on $1.8 million-a-year contract with ESPN.

He also bagged a $1 million signing bonus.

The 37-year-old also appears on their Monday Night Countdown pre-game show.

The dad-of-four also has a popular podcast with brother Travis Kelce called New Heights.
