EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.
Jan. 4
11:00 a.m.: A caller in the 100 block of North 59th Avenue reported all the neighborhood’s mail had been stolen out of the boxes. A second call later came from the 2200 block of 64th Avenue reporting the same thing.
1:00 p.m.: A caller in the 400 block of North 35th Avenue reported finding a cat in a box outside her door. She was unable to keep it because she is allergic.
3:30 p.m.: A caller in the 2400 block of 24th Street reported he was getting charged late fees even when paying his rent on time. He said whenever he goes to the office, they don’t treat him well and tell him he complains too much.
Jan. 5
3:30 a.m.: A caller in the 3100 block of 17th Avenue reported a man trying to sell drugs kept calling and leaving him mean messages. The caller clarified that the messages were not threatening, just mean.
10:15 a.m.: A caller in the 1300 block of 6th Street reported a loose chicken got into her yard and she didn’t know what to do with it.
12:15 p.m.: A woman at the Greeley Police Department reported that she borrowed her boyfriend’s car and left her wallet and phone. The two are now fighting, and he wouln’t respond to her when she tried to get the items back.
1:30 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported people riding around on a dirt bike and making a lot of noise.
Jan. 6
9:30 a.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported a neighbor kept piling up dog poop from her yard and throwing it into the caller’s yard. She had been doing it for years, but the caller had tried to disregard it because he thought she might have Alzheimer’s.
1:15 p.m.: A caller in the 600 block of Airport Road reported he was going to be flying a gray helicopter to observe deer over the Platte River and wanted to advise law enforcement.
7:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2400 block of 20th Street Road reported a mountain lion in her backyard. She said it was about the size of her Doberman.
10:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2200 block of 23rd Avenue reported a man wearing a hoodie was flashing his genitalia toward traffic.
Jan. 7
4:00 p.m.: A caller reported two men smoking and panhandling at a Mexican grocery store at 8th Avenue and 11th Street. When people would refuse to give them money, the two men would blow smoke in their face.
7:30 p.m.: A caller in the 1000 block of 22nd Avenue Court reported someone hit his car in front of his house. When checking the damage, he said there were tire marks and footprints in the snow around the car, but no note.
9:00 p.m.: A caller at an apartment complex in the 500 block of 18th Street reported someone playing loud music that was shaking the caller’s cupboards. The caller said it had been happening every day.
9:30 p.m.: A caller in the 1300 block of 87th Avenue reported a neighbor’s car was unoccupied but sounded like someone was holding down the horn. The caller tried knocking on the neighbor’s door but got no answer.
