The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County recorded its largest decrease since Dec. 10, dropping 1 cent to $4.534 Wednesday, one day after rising seven-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 2.6 cents more than one week ago and 6.3 cents higher than one month ago, but 4.6 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.901 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the eighth time in nine days, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.129. It has increased 6.4 cents over the past nine days, including one-tenth of a cent Tuesday. The national average price rose five consecutive days, was unchanged Sunday and resumed rising Monday.
The national average price is 4 cents more than one week ago, 8.7 cents higher than one month ago, and 5.2 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.887 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
