That included the Kansas City Chiefs win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.

They also showed the Baltimore Ravens against the Houston Texans hours later.

The two games averaged more than 24 million viewers.

Netflix are looking at adding more boxing in the future, following previous success.

The Mike Tyson fight against Jake Paul drew 108 million viewers around the world.

And they had some smaller events last year, including Joey Chestnut‘s hot dog eating contest.

It is understood they are now looking at moving into grabbing more NFL games in the future.

The league are believed to be open to the idea, trying to create as much competition as they can.

Netflix announced earlier this week they are increasing their monthly prices.

A premium plan will now cost users as much as $24.99 a month.

However, the streaming giant also revealed they had surpassed 300 millions subscribers worldwide.

The addition of live events, and investment in their TV offerings, are factors in the major rise.

They went from 282.7m users in October up to 301.6m globally now.

The company also now have a revenue of a staggering $10.2 billion.

That gives them more than enough scope to invest in further NFL TV rights.

Meanwhile, 2025 has already seen further expansion into sport for Netflix.

They now have the rights to the WWE, including both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown live.

They have also acquired the Fifa Women’s World Cup in 2027 and 2031.

“We’re not focusing on acquiring rights to large regular-season sports packages.

“Rather, our live strategy is all about delivering can’t-miss, special-event programming,” Netflix said in a letter to shareholders.

“Although our live programming will likely be a small percentage of our total view hours and content expense.

It continued: “We think the eventized nature will result in outsized value to both our members and our business.”
