OHIO State’s national championship celebrations were almost derailed by an unfortunate accident.
After hoisting the trophy on the field, the team was driven behind the scenes to the presser.
It was that drive that could’ve ruined the festivities though.
After picking up head coach Ryan Day and assorted players from the team, the golf cart driver attempted to turn the cart around to get to their destination.
However, the driver misjudged the turn and rammed the cart directly into a concrete wall.
The team was forced to get up and walk the rest of the way, something that seemed to make Day upset.
His players got a good laugh out of the crash though, with quarterback Will Howard laughing hysterically while walking out of the cart.
College football fans joined Howard in laughing at the crash and shared on social media.
“Those boys were in such a great mood, they would have laughed even if she had flipped it,” one fan said.
“You know she has to be SO freaking embarrassed,” another fan said.
“She’s probably a Michigan fan,” a third fan said.
“That wall should press charges… it was a clear hit and run!” a fourth fan said.
“Ma’am, you can’t park there,” a fifth fan said.
The Ohio State team eventually made it to their presser, where they celebrated the 34-23 win over Notre Dame.
“It’s a great story about a bunch of guys who have just overcome some really tough situations, and at the point where there’s a lot of people that counted us out (they) just kept swinging and kept fighting,” Day said.
Howard had a clean game for Ohio State, passing for 231 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
He also ran for 57 yards during the win.
