DONALD Trump has made a solemn vow to tackle issues at America’s southern border in a powerful inaugural address.
He declared the border crisis a “national emergency” and pledged to restore common sense in his second term after he was sworn in.
In a 15-minute speech, Trump highlighted some of the first orders he plans to enact as president.
At one point, he said he wanted to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
“America will reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on Earth – inspiring the awe and admiration of the entire world.
“A short time from now, we are going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.”
He called his second term a “revolution of common sense” as he vowed to tackle the US-Mexico border and stop illegal immigration.
The president said there is an “invasion of our country,” and that, under his leadership, Mexican cartels would be considered foreign terrorist organizations.
