It’s all change at BBC Radio Two after the departure of Zoe Ball from the flagship Breakfast Show just before Christmas.
Scott Mills is about to take over as the new morning host, just two years after joining the station.
The 51-year-old became the afternoon show presenter on Radio Two in autumn 2022, replacing Steve Wright.
He had previously been a presenter at Radio One for 24 years.
Now he takes on the biggest show on the station, which he has said is a “dream come true”.

His appointment has sparked something of shake-up at the station.
Trevor Nelson has left his Rhythm Nation show and will take over the 2-4pm weekday afternoon slot, which Mills previously presented.
DJ Spoony will now host his The Good Groove show in Nelson’s former weekday late evening slot Monday to Thursday 10pm- midnight.
And Sophie Ellis-Bextor will also be launching her new weekly Kitchen Disco show from 9 till 11pm on Friday 31 January.

Zoe Ball made the announcement in November that she would be stepping down as Breakfast Show host.
She said: “I’ve decided it’s time to step away from the early alarm call and start a new chapter.
“I’m excited to embrace my next chapter, including being a mum in the mornings, and I can’t wait to tune in on the school run!”
It came after a tough year for the 54-year-old radio host.
She revealed in spring 2024 that her mother Julia Peckham had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was then absent from her show for parts of March, to spend time with her.
Sadly, in April, she announced her mother had died.
Over the summer of 2024, the presenter was away for a six-week period returning to the airwaves in mid-September.
It has since been disclosed that that was when she told Radio 2 bosses of her decision to quit the breakfast show.
She was reported to have reached the decision so she could spend more time with her family.
The presenter has two children from her marriage to DJ Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, Woody Cook, 24, and Nelly, 14.
She also revealed on Instagram in November last year that she wakes up most days with “awful headaches” because of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder.
TMJ is a condition which affects the movement of the jaw and causing pain in the joint and surrounding muscles, according to the NHS website.
In an emotional final show on Friday 20 December, she said: “It’s been such a gift to do this show… pretty cool to be the first lass to host, and I won’t be the last – remember girls, you can do anything.
“To the biggest stars of our breakfast show, the listeners, young and old, and those in the middle, thank you for tuning in, whether as a lone listener, a family, a work gang, on your morning jogs, dog walks, truck drives, train commutes, or hiding in bed, it’s been a real privilege to keep you company through your morning manoeuvres.
“You’re just there, and I’m just here, having a chat with a mate, it’s such a special, intimate relationship, that is never lost on me.”

Mills has made clear his excitement at the new role he is about to take on.
He said: “I am counting down the days until I get to host the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
“It’s the biggest breakfast show in the UK and a career dream for me come true.
“I feel honoured to be a part of the morning routine for millions of listeners as they wake up and start their day.”
After the announcement was made last year that he would be replacing Zoe Ball, he said: “Zoe and I have been such good friends now for over 25 years and have spent much of that time as part of the same radio family here at Radio 2 and also on Radio 1.
“She’s done an incredible job on this show over the past six years, and I am beyond excited to be handed the baton.
“It feels ever since recording my first shows as a kid for an audience of one, my mum, all roads since have led to this amazing opportunity.
“It really is a lifelong dream come true to follow in the footsteps of Sir Terry, Chris and Zoe to be the new presenter of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.”
Ball, who has been a longtime friend and colleague of Mills, said her and Scott “go way back to our Radio 1 days, when he was doing early mornings before me”.
“He’s been a close friend for years, and I’m beyond thrilled it’s him taking over the Breakfast Show“, she added.
