Texas A&M lands Houston transfer WR Jonah Wilson via portal

Texas A&M got a much-needed boost to its passing game for next season on Tuesday, signing Houston transfer wideout Jonah Wilson, On3 reported.

Wilson appeared in just 7 games for the Cougars this past season. He caught 9 passes for 58 yards during a disappointing redshirt freshman season, so he’s heading to College Station to try to revive his college career. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder is from Houston, so he’ll be leaving his hometown but not his home state in 2025 when he suits up for Texas A&M.

Wilson is set to join an Aggies offense that’s already added transfer portal commitments from Mario Craver (Mississippi State), KC Concepcion (N.C. State) and Micah Hudson (Texas Tech).

During his first season with the Cougars in 2023, Wilson finished with only 2 catches, 1 of which went for a 60-yard touchdown in a loss to Oklahoma State. His other catch during that season went for no gain against Kansas State.

Then, in 2024, there wasn’t much more production from Wilson, and so he’s decided to bolt from the Big 12 and take his talents to the SEC.

Wilson’s transfer is sure to bring some depth and experience to an Aggies wide receiver room that will also welcome highly touted freshmen Jerome Myles and Kelshaun Johnson this fall.
