Luton Town are set to appoint Matt Bloomfield as their new manager from Wycombe Wanderers, talkSPORT understands.
The Hatters are set to trigger Bloomfield’s £100,000 release clause after holding positive talks with the 40-year-old over the weekend.
He will succeed Rob Edwards, who left by mutual agreement last week amid their fears of relegation from the Championship.
Luton are 20th in the second tier and two points above the bottom three despite playing Premier League football last season.
Bloomfield will arrive at Kenilworth Road after spending 19 years representing Wycombe as a player before becoming their manager in February 2023.
They are level on 51 points with Wrexham but are only ahead of the Welsh outfit on goal difference with 25 matches played.
