MICHAEL STRAHAN aimed a shot at his former team for letting a first team All-Pro superstar leave the New York Giants.
However, it was not running back Saquon Barkley, who left the Giants for the Philadelphia Eagles and enjoyed a truly historic season.
It was in fact Xavier McKinney, who hauled in EIGHT interceptions in his debut season with the Green Bay Packers.
The Eagles and Packers met in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday night – the Giants were watching from home having posted a record of 3-14.
While Barkley has hoarded the headlines after becoming just the ninth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season, McKinney was also starring.
The safety’s eight interceptions were good for the second most in the league.
His five interceptions in the first five weeks of the season also made him the first ever player to do that on a new team.
And Strahan, in his pre-game analysis of the playoff clash for Fox NFL Sunday, couldn’t help but take it out on the hapless Giants.
The former Giant, who spent his entire career with the team, said: “The Packers allow under 100 yards (per game) rushing.
“The Eagles have got Saquon Barkley, that’s going to be the first battle.
“You got Xavier McKinney, co-leader in takeaways in the NFL, number two in interceptions.”
He then turned and looked directly at the camera and said: “Thank you New York Giants because you let him go and you let Barkley go. Well done.”
In the battle of the former Giants it was definitely Barkley who came out on top over McKinney.
Barkley managed 119 yards on 25 carries for the Eagles, who made easy work of the Packers in a 22-10 win to set up a game against either the Minnesota Vikings or LA Rams at home next week.
After the game, he said: “We gotta be our biggest critic and that’s what we are gonna do and see when it can improve on.”
Barkley was also free and clear at the endzone but elected not to take the touchdown to keep the clock running and ice the game.
He added: “Stats don’t matter. The only stat that matters is the win.
“Whether we throw for 400 yards, rush for 400 yards or win 3-0, I don’t give a f***, to be honest. I just want to win.”

Asked if it was tempting to score the TD, he added: “It wasn’t tempting. Situational football.
“A first down you win the game? Get the first down and sit down.
“They told me I should’ve taken a little bit more, but at the end of the day the most important thing in the playoffs is winning and advancing.
“The most important thing is winning games. “The stat line don’t matter. The only stat that matters is getting Ws.”
