Before the first round of the Australian Open, Basavereddy reiterated his admiration for Djokovic, saying the 24-time Grand Slam champion is his favourite tennis player. “My favourite has always been Djokovic,” Basavareddy said. “I’ve looked up to a lot of different players and modelled my game after a lot of players, but he’s been my favourite,” he added.
