The Northern Colorado wrestling team split four dual matches to finish fourth at the National Wrestling Coaches Association dual championships Friday and Saturday in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The Bears defeated California State University Bakersfield and No. 26 Wyoming on Friday before losing to host and fifth-ranked Northern Iowa and No. 15 Little Rock on Saturday.
UNC beat CSU-Bakersfield 32-10 and Wyoming 22-12. Northern Iowa defeated UNC 38-3 in a semifinal dual Saturday. Little Rock beat UNC 30-14 in the third-place match later in the day Saturday.
Poulin, a 125-pounder who won a title last weekend at the prestigious Southern Scuffle, won all four of his matches at the NWCA duals.
Poulin decisioned No. 23-ranked Trever Anderson of Northern Iowa in the semifinals. Poulin scored a 19-3 technical fall over Jayden Carson in the third-place match.
Dominick Serrano (133 pounds), Andrew Alirez (141), Vincent Zerban (157) and Clayton Ulrey (165) all won both of their matches Friday against opponents from CSU Bakersfield and Wyoming.

Serrano beat Santino Sanchez of CSU Bakersfield on a technical fall (19-3). Serrano scored a major decision over Wyoming’s Stockton O’Brien 11-1 in the quarterfinals.
Alirez, aiming for a second NCAA title this year, didn’t wrestle Saturday against Northern Iowa and Little Rock. Serrano, a junior from Windsor, lost to Northern Iowa’s Julian Farber on a major decision (11-3) in the semifinals Saturday. He did not wrestle against Little Rock.
Zerban, Ulrey and Aydin Rix-McElhinney (174) all won their matches against Little Rock. Zerban beat No. 19-ranked Matt Bianchi 9-8. Ulrey decisioned No. 20 Joey Bianchi 10-4. Rix-McElhinney defeated No. 30 Tyler Brennan 2-0.
UNC hosts North Dakota State in a Big 12 Conference dual at 6 p.m. Friday (Jan. 17) at Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley.
