The first (published) NFL mock draft of the year is always a tough one. I don’t have all the information I need yet, but I still want to go through the entire process and continue to tighten up the team needs, consensus big boards, and how I think this draft will flow. One of the biggest things I’m seeing in other mocks is a willingness to just kind of let the good fits fall to teams that make sense. I tried to avoid this and have at least 4-5 picks that are clearly a better fit for the team right after the “pick” but still make sense where they are.
1. Tennessee Titans – Cam Ward, QB, Miami
The Titans have the top pick and very much need a quarterback. Unfortunately, it’s a weak QB class year. Sory about your luck, hopefully it works out though. This stinks for Callahan, whose tenure almost certainly depends on this pick. I can definitely see things shifting away from the QBs going this high if teams start to get cold feet about wasting a top-five pick on players of this caliber.
2. Cleveland Browns – Travis Hunter, CB, Colorado
Let’s assume the Browns make it happen at QB with an FA singing like Cousins or Rodgers, or even by just running it back with Watson; it’s just a bit too early to reach for an OL or even a DL like Mason Graham. I guess you try to fire up the fan base and fix the defense a bit with a dynamic player from Colorado.
3. New York Giants – Shadeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
The ownership has pretty much forced their hand here. Win this year or go away. Again, I’m not so sure about taking these QBs as high as I’ll mock them today, but the Giants may be forced to reach hard.

New England Patriots – Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Another assumption: let’s pretend they can spend the war chest partially on Tee Higgins, then it makes sense to bolster the defense and find some OT prospects with the three-day-two picks they own.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars – Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
With two CBs off the board already, the thin and getting thinner secondary will have to wait, and the “hopefully) offensive-minded new HC will get Trevor a weapon to go opposite of Brian Thomas, Jr.
6. Las Vegas Raiders – Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State
Vegas ain’t getting a top two QB, CB, or the top WR and it’s likely a bit early to go after a RB. A beast of an edge rusher isn’t a bad consolation prize for a team that likely isn’t competing in 2025 anyway.

Jets work on the defensive line and will have to scrounge for a QB in FA land and lottery ticket draft picks (or run it back ONE MORE TIME with Aaron Rodgers)
8. Carolina Panthers – James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee
I think this pick just needs to be whoever the Panthers scouts and coaches have as the top-rated defensive player left on the board. They have needs all over the place, but the defense has so many holes to fill.
9. New Orleans Saints – Will Campbell, OT, LSU
The Saints snag a tackle to help the offensive line that struggled greatly with injuries and poor play this past year. A local kid, to boot.
10. Chicago Bears – Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M
Bears have heavy needs in a few spots, but with some good young defenders, I have them taking a pass rusher over the second offensive lineman.
11. San Francisco 49ers – Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
The 49ers backfill at CB after likely losing some defensive players in free agency.
12. Dallas Cowboys – Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Cowboys are the Cowboys and this one just feels right. Plus, they need a running back!

14. Indianapolis Colts – Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
15. Atlanta Falcons – Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss
16. Arizona Cardinals – Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia
17. Cincinnati Bengals – Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
18. Seattle Seahawks – Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
19. Houston Texans – Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
20. Denver Broncos – Cameron Williams, OT, Texas
21. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia
22. Pittsburgh Steelers – Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
23. Los Angeles Rams – Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
24. Green Bay Packers – Landon Jackson, EDGE, Arkansas
25. Los Angeles Chargers – Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
26. Washington Commanders – Wyatt Milum, OT, West Virginia
27. Baltimore Ravens – Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall
28. Minnesota Vikings – Tyler Booker, G, Alabama
29. Buffalo Bills – Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M
30. Philadelphia Eagles – Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
31. Kansas City Chiefs – Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
32. Detroit Lions – Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina
NFL Mock Draft Update Schedule
I’ll try to do one updated NFL mock draft per week as we go, and I would love to hear any feedback you have on this one. Mock drafts are difficult and always evolving, and the NFL season isn’t even over yet, so there will be wholesale changes as we get closer to April.
