Around the NFL: Latest on Tyreek Hill, Zay Flowers Injury, Coordinator Interviews, More

Tyreek Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, sang a different tune today than his client recently—that and more in today’s NFL Notes.

Tyreek Hill’s Agent Sings a Different Tune

Tyreek Hill’s Agent Clears the Air on Future with Dolphins

Despite Tyreek Hill’s recent comments hinting at dissatisfaction following the Dolphins’ 8-9 season, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, reassured fans that the star receiver remains committed to Miami. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Rosenhaus attributed Hill’s remarks to postgame emotions and urged fans to disregard them.

“I think at the end of the day, he’s committed to this Dolphin football team. He had an excellent meeting with Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel,” Rosenhaus said. “I believe that Tyreek is a great asset to the Dolphins … They have many more worries. Tyreek is not one of them.”

While Rosenhaus affirmed Hill’s dedication to the team, he hesitated slightly when asked if the 30-year-old wideout definitively wanted to stay in Miami. Hill endured a challenging season, battling a preseason wrist injury that doctors initially recommended be treated with season-ending surgery. Despite the injury, Hill played all 17 games, recording 81 catches for 959 yards and six touchdowns — his lowest totals since 2019, when he missed games due to a shoulder injury.

“Let me just say this, I’ve got to have that conversation with Tyreek. I’m not going to speak for him. We’ll discuss that,” Rosenhaus added.

“Tyreek is very passionate. Anyone I’ve ever represented who was great was passionate. They cared. What you see with Tyreek is very genuine. He wants to win. It’s not good enough for him not to make the playoffs. He’s very passionate.”

This marked Hill’s first NFL season without a playoff appearance and just the third time in his career that he failed to surpass 1,000 receiving yards.

Ravens’ Zay Flowers Out for Wild-Card Matchup Against Steelers

The Baltimore Ravens will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card round without leading receiver Zay Flowers, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Thursday.

Flowers injured his right knee during the Week 18 win over Cleveland. While Harbaugh stated earlier this week that the injury is not season-ending and described Flowers as “day to day,” the quick seven-day turnaround between games was insufficient for the 24-year-old to recover in time.

“Zay Flowers is not going to be able to make it to the game this week,” Harbaugh said. “So he’ll get started again next week and we’ll move forward with the guys we have and we’re excited about the guys we have, which is everybody else.”

Zay Flowers exited the Ravens’ Week 18 win over the Browns after a second-quarter knee injury, leaving Baltimore without its leading receiver for the wild-card matchup against the Steelers. Flowers, who earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2024 with team highs of 74 receptions and 1,059 yards, played a key role in Baltimore’s offense with his versatility in screens, crossers, jet sweeps, and deep routes.

Head coach John Harbaugh emphasized that Flowers’ absence won’t restrict Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken’s play-calling, with other weapons stepping up. Former first-round pick Rashod Bateman, who had 45 catches for 756 yards and nine touchdowns this season, will become the top wideout. Veteran Nelson Agholor, returning from a concussion, and young receivers Tylan Wallace and Devontez Walker will also see increased opportunities.

Tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely combined for 97 receptions and 17 touchdowns, and pass-catching running back Justice Hill could see expanded roles. The Ravens are expected to lean heavily on their rushing attack, bolstered by their dominant 220-yard performance against Pittsburgh in Week 16.

With frigid conditions expected and the Steelers’ struggles against the run, Baltimore will likely continue to rely on its ground game to offset the loss of Flowers.

Seahawks Request Interview with Klint Kubiak for OC Vacancy

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Seahawks have requested to interview Klint Kubiak, currently the Saints’ offensive coordinator. Kubiak, 37, has prior experience as the 49ers’ passing game coordinator (2023) and the Broncos’ passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach (2022).

Kubiak is also being considered for the Browns’ offensive coordinator role, as he previously worked with head coach Kevin Stefanski during their time with the Vikings. Kubiak is the son of former NFL head coach Gary Kubiak and the brother of 49ers offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak.

Anaurmo, Wilks to Interview for Colts DC Job

The Indianapolis Colts plan to interview Steve Wilks and Lou Anarumo for a coaching position, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

Steve Wilks, the 49ers’ defensive coordinator in 2023, helped the team reach Super Bowl LVIII, with the defense ranking 8th in yards allowed and 3rd in points allowed. He also served as Carolina’s interim head coach in 2022 (6-6 record) and was Arizona’s head coach in 2018 (3-13 record).

Lou Anarumo recently completed his sixth season as Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator but was fired after a disappointing 2024 season, where the Bengals ranked 25th in both yards and points allowed. His best season came in 2022 when Cincinnati ranked 6th in points allowed and 16th in yards allowed.

The Latest on the Rams-Vikings Wild Card Game

Currently, the Rams-Vikings Wild Card game will remain in Los Angeles as scheduled. That was the case when the NFL released a press release on Wednesday evening and remained so through the afternoon on Thursday, with the Rams releasing a statement.

“The safety of the Los Angeles community is our top priority, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in the area. We are grateful for the tireless efforts of first responders who continue to protect our city and community as well as individuals who continue to help our neighbors in need.

As of now, the Wild Card playoff game featuring your Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings remains scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium on Monday night at 5 PM PT. As with all games, the NFL has contingency plans in the event a change in location is needed due to the tragic fires in our region. If the NFL decides a change in location is needed, the game would be played on Monday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. That is currently only a contingency plan and if that happens we will inform all ticket holders via email what that means for their current tickets.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in contact with local officials, the NFL and NFLPA.

We hope you all are somewhere safe and we hope to see you Monday night.”
