BASKETBALL legend Charles Barkley leapt like never before – after a jaw-dropping moment where “the largest” and most surprising thing ever fell from the TNT ceiling.
Barkley was fronting NBA on TNT with fellow pundits Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson when a snappy moment interrupted their half-time chat.
Just as they were getting their teeth into the action, an ALLIGATOR crashed down onto the table in front of Barkley.
In all his 16 NBA seasons – with Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets – he rarely moved so fast.
Barkley recoiled in shock – whereas his co-stars, who looked to be in the know, rolled around laughing.
However, the 61-year-old soon switched to a grin too – no doubt helped by realising it was only a rubber gator.
Viewers loved the unexpected intrusion too – with the gator perhaps seemingly choosing his victim carefully.
NBA on TNT shared the reptilian rendezvous on social media.
And they confirmed: “That is the largest thing we’ve ever dropped out of the ceiling.”
But TNT admitted the unorthodox encounter could cause them a headache.
Barkley soon got to grips with the surprise guestThey said: “Studio J may have a gator problem.”
But for fans it was no ‘claws for concern’ as they Chuckled at the scaly scene.
One called it “too funny” and another added: “Studio J is taking ‘drop the mic’ to a whole new level with that gator surprise!”
A third warned: “They gonna give Chuck a heart attack lol.”
And a fourth congratulated the show on the timing of the drop-in.
He said: “I can’t believe they had us believe this show was going to be over. Ain’t no way.”
Well, it’s always been better gator than never…
