Paris Hilton is "heartbroken beyond words" after watching her California home "burn to the ground on live TV" as the fires continue to rampage through parts of Los Angeles.
"Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience," Hilton, 43, began in a lengthy statement shared via X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

"This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where [son] Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with [daughter] London. While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family is safe," she shared alongside a clip of news footage showing parts of the Palisades area destroyed and covered in soot.
"My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires. To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses," Hilton continued, "The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking."

Emotions aside, she is ready to organize a coordinated response effort. "My 11:11 Media Impact Team is already reaching out to nonprofit organizations today," she wrote. "We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most."
Hilton went on to praise the first responders and emergency personnel on the front lines: "To the brave firefighters and first responders risking their lives to protect us, you are true heroes. I am so grateful for your courage, dedication, and the incredible sacrifices you’re making to save lives and fight this unimaginable battle. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"Please, everyone, stay safe and follow evacuation orders. Let’s protect one another and hold onto hope that these fires will soon be contained," she added. "Sending so much love and strength to all of you. We’re in this together, LA. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. You never know when everything could change."
Hilton's Malibu property was, unfortunately, one of more than 300 structures that have been decimated, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire). As of 3 p.m. local time on Wednesday, the Palisades Fire had burned over 15,800 acres and was 0 percent contained as it still threatened more than 13,000 homes and buildings.
Other celebrities who publicly revealed they were impacted by the fire or related evacuations in some way include Ricki Lake, Jamie Lee Curtis, Mandy Moore, Mark Hamill, James Woods, as well as Steve Martin and Martin Short, who announced they would have to cancel upcoming shows due to the raging fires.
