DENVER (KDVR) — A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued as Denver's first snowstorm of the year left several inches of snow on the ground on Tuesday.
Over the weekend, almost a foot of snow fell in parts of Colorado. More than a thousand flights were delayed and dozens were canceled at the Denver International Airport. Meanwhile, traffic piled up to and from the mountains during the weekend winter weather.
While Denver only received half an inch of snow over the weekend, it wasn't long until the snow started back up on Monday night, leaving a white coat over Denver by Tuesday morning.

Cuchara have seen the most snow with over 5 inches, while nearby areas like Genesee and Longmont have seen 4 inches or more of snow. Denver International Airport received over 3 inches while other parts of Denver have only received less than 2 inches of snow. Areas like Cherry Hills Village reported 1 to 1.8 inches, according to Iowa State University.
