SACRAMENTO – Employees of a taco stand were able to fight back and hold down a man who deputies said tried to rob them at gunpoint on Friday night in south Sacramento.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office got a report at about 9:30 p.m. that a man tried to rob a taco stand near Fruitridge Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at gunpoint.
The employee fought back and wrestled the suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Brandon McGrath, to the ground, knocking the gun away from McGrath, authorities said.
McGrath was held to the ground until Sacramento police officers and Sacramento County deputies arrived at the scene, deputies said.
He was taken into custody and is being held on $260,000 bail.
An unserialized Polymer-styled manufactured handgun was recovered, deputies said.
