Chicago Bears Week 18 Injury Report
Guard Teven Jenkins (calf), safety Elijah Hicks (ankle/foot), and running back Travis Homer (hamstring) were sidelined from practice all week and have been ruled out for Sunday’s contest with the Green Bay Packers.
Jenkins’ future in Chicago has been discussed in recent weeks, and his ability to stay on the field must be considered. Whether missing games or not finishing games, Jenkins has dealt with injuries throughout his time with the Bears. When he’s healthy, he’s a solid contributor. However, staying healthy has been an issue for Jenkins throughout his time here.
Hicks, who stepped in for the injured Jaquan Brisker following the Carolina game in Week 5, missed the Bears loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week, and will miss the finale in Green Bay, signaling another start for Jonathan Owens aside veteran Kevin Byard III in the defensive backfield.
Running back and special-teamer Travis Homer has been sidelined since the Bears‘ loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football a few weeks ago and will miss his third straight game, ending his season.
Aside from those three, everyone else is expected to play and enter the weekend without an injury designation.
Wide receiver Rome Odunze popped up on the injury report on Wednesday with an illness, but he was a full participant on Friday and is good to go. Offensive lineman Larry Borom also dealt with an illness this week but will be ready for Sunday’s action. Kyler Gordon is in the same boat, missing practice time this week with an illness, but like Odunze and Borom, he will play on Sunday in Green Bay.
