Israeli Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee have called on Defence Minister Israel Katz to destroy all sources of food, water and power in the Gaza Strip.
Katz, the Knesset members claim that Israel's military operations were failing to achieve the government's proclaimed objectives, which are the "dismantling of Hamas' governing and military capabilities".
They urged the defence minister to have the army destroy all sources of water, food and energy in northern Gaza and kill anyone in the area who "doesn't come out with a white flag" and then to gradually enter the area for a "complete cleansing of the enemy's nests".
Israel has already imposed an intensified siege on northern Gaza, carrying out ferocious airstrikes and depriving the remaining population of humanitarian aid. Last week, it destroyed the Kamal Adwan Hospital, the last remaining medical facility in the area, by deliberately setting fire to it.

However, the eight Knesset members claim that Israel's measures are not enough.
They say that Israel's brutal attack on northern Gaza, which began in October, "has not been carried out properly" and say that a similar plan should be implemented in other parts of the Gaza Strip.
The eight MKs are Amit Halevi, Nissim Vaturi and Osher Shkalim (Likud Party), Tzvi Succot and Ohad Tal (Religious Zionism Party), Limor Son Har-Melech (Otzma Yehudit Party) and Avraham Bezalel (Shas Party).
Israel has killed at least 45,581 Palestinians since October 2023, and utterly devastated the territory, displacing over 90 percent of the population.
