Mike Bobo did not have his best performance as offensive coordinator for Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. The Bulldogs offense managed just 296 total yards of offense and scored just 10 points. As a result, the team fell to Notre Dame by a score of 23-10 and now head into the offseason.
It was always going to be hard for Georgia to get far in these College Football Playoffs after losing Carson Beck for the season. However, backup quarterback Gunner Stockton can’t shoulder all the blame for this loss. The Bulldogs failed to get any consistency in the run game and also turned the ball over twice.

In 2023, Georgia finished No. 5 in total offense while finishing No. 43 in the category in 2024. A large contingent of Georgia fans are of the opinion that Bobo is holding back the offense due to unimaginative playcalling.
With the Bulldog offense taking a big step back in 2024 and the team’s season ending earlier than fans hoped, it’s understandable that frustration is being taken out on Bobo. If Smart does decide to make a change at OC, there will likely be no shortage of interested coaches.
