The Cotton Bowl will feature the No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-2) taking on the No. 4 Texas Longhorns (13-2) on Friday, January 10, 2025 for a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
In their most recent game, the Buckeyes won 41-21 over the Oregon Ducks. Their last time out, the Longhorns won 39-31 over the Arizona State Sun Devils. Against the Ducks, Will Howard led the Buckeyes with 319 yards on 17-of-26 passing (65.4%) for three touchdowns and no interceptions. TreVeyon Henderson totaled 94 rushing yards on eight carries (11.8 yards per carry), scoring two touchdowns on the ground. He added three catches for 20 yards. Jeremiah Smith totaled seven receptions for 187 yards (averaging 26.7 per catch), while scoring two touchdowns against the Ducks. Quinn Ewers notched 322 passing yards while going 20-for-30 with three touchdowns and one interception for the Horns against the Sun Devils. He added six carries for 1 yard and one touchdown. Quintrevion Wisner carried the ball 18 times for 45 yards. He caught four passes for 40 yards. Matthew Golden caught seven passes for 149 yards (21.3 yards per catch), scoring one touchdown.
