Dak Prescott breaks silence on fiancee burglary after falling victim to international crime ring as FBI sends warning

DAK PRESCOTT has said he will “take every step necessary” to avoid being targeted again by thieves.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback and his fiancee were the targets of a highly organized international crime ring that the FBI believes have been behind a spate of robberies and burglaries in recent months.

Dak Prescott has spoken out after he was the victim of a robbery by an international crime group Prescott said he will ‘take every step necessary’ to protect his fiancee, Sarah Jane Ramos, and their daughter

Prescott’s fiancee, Sarah Jane Ramos, had over $40,000 of valuables stolen from her car as she went to a Pilates class in downtown Dallas.

That included cash, credit cards, electronics and designer handbags from Prada, Gucci, YSL, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.

Prescott said: “I can’t have it be written about every which way that I go to protect my security because then I’ll just be opening a loophole, but I’ve always understood who I was or where I was, especially being the quarterback of this team and targeted that I am, whether it be for a natural robbery or whether it be for losing a game and whatever.

“I’ve understood the position that I am in. So, for me it’s more about the day and now protecting my fiancée and my daughter.”

There were reports that Ramos ‘forgot to lock her car’ but Prescott said he “don’t want to tie that in.”

He added: “I don’t want to tie that in, and I don’t want anybody to tie that in with other things that have been happening.

“I mean her car got broken into at Pilates in Dallas.

“Who knows how many times that happens a day? So that’s that.

“But as far as the other – protecting the home and that – yeah, I’m going to take every step necessary that I can to ensure the safety and that doesn’t happen to me.”

Earlier this week, the FBI were forced into sending a memo to major leagues and sports teams to remind athletes to be vigilant.

Prescott is not the only athlete to have been targeted by what the Bureau believes is an organized and technical international crime ring from South America.

Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Mike Conley and Bobby Portis are among those to have been robbed.

Fellow Dallas superstar Luka Doncic has $30,000 of jewelry taken from his home just the day after Prescott’s fiancee was targeted.

The Dallas Mavericks were playing in Phoenix against the Suns at the time.

A memo, obtained by ABC News and titled a ‘Liaison Information Report’, said that the crime group conducts physical surveillance to prepare and plan their robberies, as well as using public information – such as social media profiles and team schedules – to identify patterns for their potential victims.

FBI statement on pro athlete burglaries

The FBI has issued a information bulletin about burglaries targeting professional athletes. The agency wrote in part:

“These homes are targeted for burglary due to the perception they may have high-end goods like designer handbags, jewelry, watches, and cash.

“While many burglaries occur while homes are unoccupied, some burglaries occur while residents are home. In these instances, individuals are encouraged to seek law enforcement help and avoid engaging with criminals, as they may be armed or use violence if confronted.

“These preparation tactics enable theft groups to conduct burglaries in a short amount of time. Organized theft groups bypass alarm systems, use Wi-Fi jammers to block Wi-Fi connections and disable devices, cover security cameras, and obfuscate their identities.”

The report read: “These preparation tactics enable theft groups to conduct burglaries in a short amount of time.

“Organized theft groups bypass alarm systems, use Wi-Fi jammers to block Wi-Fi connections and disable devices, cover security cameras, and obfuscate their identities.”

They advised players to employ additional security, inventory high-value items and refrain from posting pictures of valuables or the interior of their homes.

The memo also said to avoid real-time posts when away from home or on vacation.

It added: “While many burglaries occur while homes are unoccupied, some burglaries occur while residents are home.

“In these instances, individuals are encouraged to seek law enforcement help and avoid engaging with criminals, as they may be armed or use violence if confronted.”

The report said that “at least nine professional athletes” had been burglarized between September and November 2024.
