A rundown of the first injury report of Bears-Packers week. As a reminder, walk-through practices come with designation estimations. In other words, we won’t look too deeply into things (even if they cause us to see some yellow flags):
Wide receiver Rome Odunze and offensive lineman Larry Borom did not participate due to illness. It is the time of year when the sick bug makes its rounds. Yours truly knows it all too well, as I have been dealing with some sort of sickness since last Saturday. I am doing better and expect to be a full-go for Sunday’s regular-season finale. Hopefully, the same can be said about Odunze and Borom.GOOD RIDDANCE 2024: Saying Goodbye to the Crappiest Year in Chicago Sports
Players not participating in practice due to injuries: Defensive back Elijah Hicks, running back Travis Homer, and offensive lineman Teven Jenkins. Hicks, Homer, and Jenkins missed the home finale on Thursday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks. Jenkins might have been the player the Bears missed the most, especially since his replacement (Jake Curhan) was flagged for two costly penalties at left guard — including one that negated a touchdown. Good news from the injury report: Defensive back Tarvarius Moore (knee) was a full participant. I’ll be curious to see if the safety maintains full participation status when the team moves from walk-throughs and goes into full practices.More to come later.
