Boise State is taking on Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl on Tuesday night. The Broncos earned a first-round bye after securing the No. 3 seed and are taking on the No. 6 Nittany Lions with a trip to the semifinals on the line.
However, if the pregame festivities are any indication, the Broncos could be in for a bad night. Roger Carreon was one of the team’s flag carriers and the starting offensive lineman tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground while carrying the American flag.

Unfortunately, the bad luck for the Broncos would carry over to the game. The Nittany Lions got on the board first with just under 7 minutes to play in the 1st quarter. Drew Allar found Tyler Warren in the end zone to make it a 7-0 game.
Just a few game minutes later, the Nittany Lions scored again, this time with Allar finding Omari Evans for the score. At the end of the 1st quarter, the Nittany Lions had a 14-0 lead at the Fiesta Bowl. The Broncos, meanwhile, have struggled to get anything going on offense. During the 1st quarter, star running back Ashton Jeanty took 8 carries for just 20 yards and lost a fumble.
Blunder aside, Carreon has had a great season for the Broncos. The guard has helped Jeanty have a Heisman-level season and has paved the way for the Broncos to have the No. 5 rushing offense in the country. The Broncos’ offensive line has also allowed just 12 sacks on the year, which puts the team at No. 8 in the country in sacks allowed.
