Cheez-It mascot officiates mid-game wedding during Citrus Bowl ...Middle East

The Cheez-It mascot took an interesting role as a wedding officiant during the Citrus Bowl on Tuesday night.

A couple tied the knot during the game with, as ESPN’s broadcast noted, “50,000 guests and an unlimited source of Cheez-Its” present for the party.

There is no question that they have a large quantity of the snack on hand in what will be quite the wedding to remember.

Here’s clip of the festivities from the broadcast, which includes the mascot, dubbed “Ched-Z” as the officiant for Erin Doolin and Erik Yakes of Frederick, Maryland:

The Citrus Bowl ended up coming down to the wire with Illinois defeating South Carolina 21-17. It was a memorable affair for a number of reasons, but the unexpected wedding ceremony certainly makes the cut.

South Carolina dropped to 9-4 on the year with the loss. Illinois, meanwhile, clinched its first 10-win season since 2001. This was the first-ever meeting between South Carolina and Illinois on the gridiron.
