    1. Santa Margarita 11-2: The Eagles lost in the first round of the Platinum Division, the highest division of the prestigious The Classic at Damien tournament, then won their next two games, including an 88-81 win over Los Alamitos in the consolation bracket.

    2. JSerra 13-3: The Lions won their first three games in the The Holiday Classic at Torrey Pines High. During the tournament, 6-7 junior guard Brannon Martinsen, a transfer from Mater Dei, became eligible with the end of the sit-out periods. Martinsen scored 27 points in a 91-77 win over Carlsbad.
