Israeli air strikes hit Sanaa's international airport and other targets in Yemen held by the Houthi rebels on Thursday as the head of the World Health Organisation said he and his team were preparing to fly out.
The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether they knew at the time that WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was there.
The strikes targeting the airport, military facilities and power stations in Houthi areas marked the second time since 19 December that Israel has hit targets in Yemen after missiles were fired from there towards Israel.
On Friday the Houthis said they fired a missile at Israel's Ben Gurion airport in retaliation.
A Houthi statement also said they launched drones at Tel Aviv and a ship in the Arabian Sea, stating that Israeli "aggression will only increase the determination and resolve of the great Yemeni people to continue supporting the Palestinian people".
In Gaza, 50 people, including five medical staff, were killed after an Israeli strike targeted the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya. The army has started a siege, demanding the patients and medical staff leave as they continue their attacks on the facility.
