EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.
Dec. 8
1:00 a.m.: A caller at 8th Avenue and 22nd Street reported two men picking up a lady who was lying in the middle of the road and took her into a house. Police responded and spoke with the woman, who said she had been drinking but didn’t need any help from officers.
2:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2400 block of 15th Avenue Court reported an older man driving around the neighborhood stealing things from peoples’ yards. When the caller asked what the man was doing, he said he was “collecting scraps.”
4:00 p.m.: A caller at a mechanic shop in the 2500 block of 8th Avenue reported a cat was stuck the business’ fence.
5:30 p.m.: A caller in the 1000 block of 30th Avenue Court reported a sliding glass door was wide open on a house with a for rent sign out front. The owner of the house was renting out the basement and had left the door open to get a breeze.
Dec. 9
1:30 a.m.: A caller in the 1900 block of 8th Avenue reported a man walked right into the caller’s apartment. The man took off running when the caller confronted him.
1:15 p.m.: A caller at an event center in the 600 block of 8th Avenue reported a man created a shelter on the back stairs of the building.
Dec. 10
12:15 a.m: A caller at a convenience store in the 1000 block of 39th Avenue reported every time she stopped at the store, an employee would make her feel uncomfortable and unsafe. She said when she would pull up, he would come outside and stare at her.
7:30 p.m.: A caller at an apartment building in the 1800 block of 30th Street reported a man climbing on a second-floor balcony trying to break in to an apartment. Several people were around outside telling him he needed to leave.
7:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2200 block of 1st Avenue reported people in a vehicle in front of his house playing loud music. The people had left, but the man still wanted to speak with police.
Dec. 11
1:45 a.m.: A caller at a motel in the 700 block of 13th Street reported a man threw something through the window and tried to fight her boyfriend.
1:15 p.m.: A caller at a diner in the 900 block of 8th Avenue reported a man — who was known to carry a stick to swing around — was harassing customers.
6:45 p.m.: A lab worker at a dairy farm in the 3600 block of East C Street reported a black car driving down the dirt road with no lights on. The caller was worried because there had been a break-in nearby the week prior.
10:00 p.m.: A caller at a restaurant in the 2700 block of 11th Avenue reported a man in a red pants suit was pointing finger guns at her and her friend.
11:30 p.m.: A caller at a convenience store in the 1000 block of 39th Avenue reported the cashier didn’t give the correct change back to his mother, but the cashier was insisting he gave the correct change.
