Clemson defensive end AJ Hoffler has announced his plans to enter the transfer portal, marking a significant development in the Tigers’ offseason. Hoffler, who played in all 14 games this season, logged 245 snaps and recorded 13 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss.
As a sophomore, Hoffler stepped into a larger role on Clemson’s defensive line after appearing in seven games as a freshman, during which he tallied seven tackles. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, he’ll look to bring his experience and potential to another program.
Hoffler becomes the fourth Clemson player to enter the portal since it opened, though the Tigers have also been active in addressing their roster needs. One notable addition is former Purdue defensive end Will Heldt, who will aim to bolster Clemson’s defensive depth as they prepare for the 2025 season.
