DENVER (KDVR) -- Police in Aurora are investigating a shooting and a crash that followed shortly after involving a potential suspect vehicle and a light rail train, sending four people to the hospital Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson for the Aurora Police Department told FOX31 that preliminary information suggests there was a shooting at 18494 E. Kepner Pl. in Aurora just before 8:30 a.m.
Police said a vehicle suspected to be involved fled from the scene and crashed into a Regional Transportation District light rail train near Sable Boulevard and Ellsworth Avenue. The train was knocked off the tracks and will be out of service for an extended period.
Police said four people, three men and one woman, were taken to the hospital and the status of their injuries was unknown. Police said one person may have had a gunshot wound.
Sable Boulevard and Ellsworth Avenue are closed in the area and are expected to remain closed for several hours.
