England National Cricket Team have announced the squad for the upcoming India tour as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Three Lions will be playing three ODIs and five T20Is in India and then will travel to Pakistan for the tournament.
Jos Buttler will be leading the team in the India ODIs, T20Is as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Premier batter Joe Root has made a comeback into the team after a while and will be featuring in the ODIs against Men in Blue and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He isn't part of the T20Is.
The notable omissions from the squad were Sam Curran, Jonny Bairstow, and the premier all-rounder Ben Stokes. While Bairstow and Curran have been dropped from the ODIs, Ben Stokes wasn't available for the selection due to his injury.
The all-rounder recently faced a hamstring injury during the Test series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team and was ruled out of the action for some time. The ECB issued an official statement on the same, mentioning that he wasn't available for selection.
