Christmas travel getaway continues after crash on M25 and delays on M5

Travel chaos is set to continue today as millions more people get away for the Christmas holidays.

Weather warnings for wind have come into force across much of the UK, with the Met Office warning drivers to take extra care amid wet and windy conditions on the road.

The AA has predicted 22.7 million drivers will hit the road on Saturday and a further 21.3 million on Sunday.

It comes after there were severe delays on the M5 in Devon on Friday after hay bales on a lorry caught fire. On the M25, a crash led to lane closure between J16 and J17 that lasted into the evening.
