Rumors circulated in 2023 that Perry was dating Sistas star Crystal Hayslett, but her co-star Devale Ellis told Fox 5 Washington DC that the pair are just friends. Hayslett has been supportive of Perry's latest film and attended the premiere in Los Angeles, captioning a spread of IG photos of her enjoying the premiere with "A beautiful night."

It turns out that Perry is also quiet about his personal life, even with friends and colleagues. Smith joked during a 2014 appearance on The Wendy Williams Show that she was shocked to learn Perry was going to be a dad.
"I used to think he was asexual. I didn’t think he had sex," she said. "No, seriously. He’s like an uncle who never has sex. I was just shocked, and I’m so happy for him; he’s going to be a daddy. I used to think that he would just be the uncle-daddy, you know?”
