Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo has accepted an invitation to participate in this year’s Senior Bowl, the event announced on Thursday.
The annual Senior Bowl showcases standout college football players ahead of the NFL Draft, which starts on April 25. Executives, coaches and scouts from every NFL team attend the event each year.

Skattebo joins the field having finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy race after leading ASU to the College Football Playoff. The Sun Devils earned a bye to the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Day as the Big 12 champions, and they await the winner of Clemson versus Texas on Saturday.

Skattebo, a senior in his second season with ASU after transferring from Sacramento State, has gained 2,074 all-purpose yards and scored 22 touchdowns this season.
In seven of 12 games played this year, Skattebo has gained at least 147 rushing yards, and he has eclipsed 170 yards on the ground four times. He trails only Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty in total yards.
The Associated Press named Skattebo a First Team All-American.
Skattebo is the only ASU player to accept an invitation to the Senior Bowl at this point.
Fellow running backs on the Senior Bowl roster include Michigan’s Donovan Edwards, Michigan’s Kalel Mullings, UCF’s RJ Harvey, Virginia Tech’s Bhayshul Tuten, Auburn’s Jarquez Hunter and Devin Neal of Kansas.
What other Sun Devils have played in the Senior Bowl?
The last five Sun Devils to play in the Senior Bowl are Nesta Jade Silvera (2023), Rachaad White (2022), Frank Darby (2021), Eno Benjamin (2020) and Brandon Aiyuk (2020).
When is the Senior Bowl?
The game is on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the University of South Alabama. It takes place less than two weeks after the National Championship on Jan. 20.
