College GameDay has been a staple among college football fans for over 30 years now. In 2024, the program added a familiar face in Nick Saban, who seamlessly fit in with the group that includes Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Rece Davis, and Lee Corso.
Whether it be the new lineup or the crazy slate of games, GameDay achieved its best regular-season ratings ever in 2024. According to ESPN, the show averaged 2.2 million viewers and the ratings were up 6% compared to 2023. Three of the program’s 6 most-watched broadcasts since 2013 came during the 2024 season.

The most-watched episode of the season came in Week 1 when the crew was broadcasting from Texas A&M in Week 1 for the Aggies’ showdown with Notre Dame. That episode averaged 2.5 million viewers and became the most-watched pre-November episode ever and the 3rd-best episode on record.
A Week 13 visit to Ohio State followed close behind that Week 1 episode with 2.5 million viewers. The Week 0 episode from Dublin, Ireland, was the most-watched Week 0 broadcast ever and the first international episode.
Finally, GameDay’s regular-season finale at the SEC Championship Game was the best conference championship episode since 2010, averaging 2.1 million viewers.
The GameDay crew will be in South Bend, IN, on Friday for the opening-round matchup between Indiana and Notre Dame. The show will then travel to Columbus, OH, on Saturday for the Tennessee at Ohio State Playoff game.
