ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter shared the latest on the Chicago Bears’ plans to find a new head coach ahead of the team’s Monday Night Football Game against the Minnesota Vikings.

They’re going to go on a search to find a partner for Caleb Williams because he becomes the most important asset that they have right now to sell to a coach. So you have to figure that they’re going to want some type of offensive-minded head coach that can get the best out of Caleb Williams and develop him to the fullest potential. You’re going to see them, I would think at some point in time, talk to the Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. You’re going to see them reach out to other candidates as well that are out there. Any number of them. But this will be the biggest priority this organization engages in.”

Yes, former Tennessee Titans Head Coach Mike Vrabel is an intriguing candidate. Detroit Lions Defensive Coordinator Aaron Glenn has some buzz, too. Brian Flores, the current Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator and former Miami Dolphins head coach, will likely garner some consideration. However, the Bears are making it known via the national reporting of league insiders like Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport that they want to reel in the best offensive thinker to be the team’s next head coach. This is the NFL’s worst-kept secret. So much so that Bill Belichick took a college job because he knew that was the direction the Bears were going.
