Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson recently made her foray into on-stage performing, and fans online were just as excited as she was about the exciting new gig.
In a video shared via social media, the Supreme Court Justice can be seen taking her place on Broadway, with people dubbing the moment "so refreshing."

On Saturday, Dec. 14, the 54-year-old realized a "childhood dream" and made her theater debut after scoring a role in & Juliet. Not only that, she also made history (again) by becoming the first Supreme Court Justice on Broadway—something she mentioned was a goal of hers in her memoir, Lovely One.
Although the Supreme Court Building and the stage are two very different places to work, Brown Jackson told CBS Mornings ahead of her debut that she felt "very much in [her] element." Her prep for the big moment included everything from vocal sessions to scene walkthroughs.
As for the actual play, it "flips the script on the greatest love story ever told. & Juliet asks: what would happen next if Juliet didn't end it all over Romeo? Get whisked away on a fabulous journey as she ditches her famous ending for a fresh beginning and a second chance at life and love—her way," according to the production's website.
The lawyer and jurist took on two scenes written specifically for her in the one-time walk-on role in the musical over the weekend, with footage from the Broadway spectacle circulating on social media.

On the other hand, some weren't as receptive to the diversion from her normal day-to-day career duties, writing things like, "This does nothing to help the American people," and calling it "So embarrassing."
Brown Jackson was nominated to the Supreme Court by President Joe Biden on Feb. 25, 2022, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate and sworn into office that same year.
