Tragic Last Moments: Actress Pulled into Sea While Practicing Yoga on the Beach

Kamilla Belyatskaya, a 24-year-old actress from Novosibirsk, Russia, tragically lost her life while enjoying a day on Koh Samui, a popular tourist island in Thailand. The incident occurred when she was exercising on her pink yoga mat, overlooking the picturesque Gulf of Thailand. Moments after filming a video of herself, a sudden and massive wave swept her off her mat and into the turbulent sea.

Footage captured the horror of the moment as Kamilla was violently pulled into the churning waters, struggling against the strong currents. Despite rescue teams arriving within 15 minutes of her being swept away, the rough sea conditions hindered their efforts, making it impossible to rescue her.

Kamilla had come to the island with her boyfriend, and they had recently visited the Lad Ko Viewpoint to admire the scenic views. After parking their red car, she retrieved her pink foam mat and headed towards the viewpoint, where she expressed her love for the beauty of the area in a previous post, stating, "I love Samui so much. But this place, this rocky beach is the best thing I've ever seen in my life."

Her lifeless body was discovered over the weekend, approximately two-thirds of a mile from where she had been swept away. Eyewitnesses and her boyfriend have since provided statements to local authorities regarding the tragic event.

Officials have emphasized the dangers associated with monsoon conditions, urging tourists to exercise extreme caution, especially in rocky coastal areas during periods of high waves. Thailand has seen a surge in Russian tourism, with many seeking refuge from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In the past year alone, nearly 1.48 million Russians visited Thailand, drawn by its beautiful landscapes and warm climate.

Chaiyaporn Subprasert, head of the Samui Rescue Centre, noted that warning systems are in place across the island’s beaches, particularly in high-risk areas like Chaweng and Lamai, where red flags signal no swimming. Although the location of the tragedy was not designated for swimming, Kamilla may have been caught off guard by the unexpected wave surge.

In response to the incident, local authorities have established a marine search and rescue hub to coordinate ongoing efforts to locate the missing tourist and a brave individual who reportedly attempted to save her.
