Aswan Governor Ismail Kamal emphasized the significant advancements in solar energy projects under the New Republic, thanks to the support and directives of the political leadership. In statements to MENA, he highlighted that solar energy has become a national security priority, enabling the state to achieve self-sufficiency in the energy sector. The transformation began with the Benban Solar Energy Project, which now comprises 32 solar stations contributing approximately 1,465 MW to the national grid. “This capacity is expected to reach 2,050 MW with future expansions”. Following Benban, the Abidos Solar Energy Project in Fares Village, Kom Ombo, is currently delivering 300 MW to the nation
