GOLDEN, Colo. (KDVR) — For many, Thanksgiving is about giving back. The Golden community came together for a "give what you can" feast for all to help fight food insecurity for those who may not have a Thanksgiving meal. The Golden Mill hosted a free, or donate what you can, Thanksgiving meal with a Mexican twist on Thursday, including serving mole, rice, beans, pumpkin pie empanadas and more. The cooking started at 3 a.m. Are wild turkeys native to Colorado? "We decided to go in a little different direction. Instead of doing a traditional Thanksgiving, we want to have a little fun to ourselves and have people come and enjoy a beautiful night here," said Chef Jesus Silva.
