Although we’re still waiting on word as to who will be coaching first base for the Chicago Cubs in 2025, The Athletic does report a couple of additional coaching hires on the offensive side of player development. Specifically, Andy Haines is indeed coming back to the organization – as first reported by Jesse Rogers on ESPN 1000 – and it’ll be in one of the earlier roles he held with the Cubs, as a minor league hitting coordinator. That was his role in 2016 and 2017, before he came up to the bigs and was a hitting coach with the Cubs, Brewers, and Pirates.
