November 24, 2024 (PORT SUDAN) – Sudan accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Sunday of committing at least 500 rapes and other abuses, including sexual slavery, against women and girls since the conflict erupted in April. In a statement marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Sudan’s foreign ministry said “official authorities and relevant organizations” had documented the crimes, adding that the actual number of victims was likely far higher.
