President-elect Donald Trump nominated Scott Turner, a former NFL player and House representative for Texas from 2013 to 2017, as secretary of United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). "I am pleased to nominate Scott Turner, from the Great State of Texas, as the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)," Trump said in a press release on Friday. Turner serves as the chair of the Center for Education Opportunity at America First Policy Institute, a Trump-aligned think tank.
