(KRON) -- Disgraced former San Jose city councilmember Omar Torres was denied bail in a San Jose courtroom on Thursday. Torres resigned from his office last Tuesday and was arrested after new allegations came forward about him allegedly sexually assaulting a minor. Nima Momeni cross-examined in testy second day of testimony According to a police report, Torres raped the victim repeatedly between 1990 and 1999. In an allegedly recorded conversation between Torres, the victim, and another person, Torres admitted to sexually assaulting the victim 20 to 25 times.
