The Blackhawks out-shot the Red Wings 10-6 in the first period. They did almost everything well in the opening 20 minutes. What they didn’t do: finish the period. The Hawks attacked in the closing seconds and a loose puck flew up the ice and eventually found Alex DeBrincat all alone on the back door for an easy goal with 1.5 seconds left in the period.
