SDG&E Warns of Power Shutoffs in Backcountry Amid Santa Ana Winds

Courtesy OnScene.TV San Diego Gas & Electric has notified nearly 25,000 rural customers that power may be shut off on Wednesday morning because of critical wildfire conditions. The National Weather Service issued red flag warnings Tuesday for the San Diego County valleys and mountains through Friday morning. Moderate strength Santa Ana winds are expected to arrive Tuesday night and last until Thursday evening. The forecast calls for northeast to east winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 55 mph and relative humidity as low as 11%.
