The Ministry of Electricity (MoE) and GE Vernova have announced the early completion and energisation of five critical substations across the country in less than two years. These substations are said to be part of a nationwide project that involves the energisation of 10 substations by Iraq’s MoE and GE Vernova to improve grid stability, network efficiency and enable the interconnection with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s grid, providing more stable electricity for the people of Iraq. The five new 132kV substations include Al Hindia, Al Sader, Al Qaim Saada, North Baqubah and Yaramja South.
