US President Donald Trump on Monday attacked Brazil and Argentina over their respective currency depreciations, saying he will immediately reintroduce tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from them. “Brazil and Argentina have been presiding over a massive devaluation of their currencies which is not good for our farmers,” Trump tweeted, adding: “Therefore, effective immediately, I will restore the Tariffs on all Steel & Aluminum that is shipped into the US from those countries.” He has also urged the US Central Bank to cut interest rates to weaken the dollar.
