Logitech Unveils MX Creative Console for Digital Creators

Logitech's recent launch of the MX Creative Console marks a significant advancement in tools designed for digital creators. This innovative device, developed in collaboration with Adobe, integrates seamlessly with widely-used applications such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects . The console features a keypad equipped with dynamic display keys that adapt to the specific software being used, thereby enhancing user experience and efficiency.

Logitech has created custom plugins for Adobe apps like Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Illustrator for its MX Creative Console. In Premiere Pro you can use the dial to scrub through a timeline, and there are four buttons around the dial to activate functions like undo.

There’s also a roller for navigation, allowing you to easily adjust the level of zoom on a Premiere Pro timeline for more precise edits. In Photoshop you can twist the main dial to adjust brush sizes, or zoom in and out using the roller.

The CC comes in light gray or dark gray and consists of a Bluetooth MX Creative DialPad -- it will also work with the $15 Logi Bolt Bluetooth adapter -- and the USB-C MX Creative Keypad.

The DialPad has four programmable-per-application buttons, a big free-spinning dial (meaning there's no start or end point, and no haptic feedback to indicate specific spots or units rotated) and a free-spinning roller. It supports connection to up to three devices and runs on AAA batteries, rated to last up to 18 months.

The Keypad is a button pad with nine visible mappable buttons and a pair of previous-next page buttons. It supports up to 15 pages of mappings per application. It comes with a stand with a cable router that holds it at an angle. I wish it were adjustable because the fixed angle doesn't work for me and neither does lying it flat. Someone could probably design and 3D print a custom version. Not me, though.

Maxim Bondar, head of global business and marketing at Logitech MX, said “At MX, our vision is to build an advanced ecosystem for the most demanding users, for the advanced users, such as software developers, creative professionals, engineers — those people who work at the computer daily spend and eight hours a day.”

MX Creative Console, available in pale grey and graphite, is available for preorder today and will start shipping on October 14, 2024 for $200 on www.logitech.com and at other global retailers. The device is compatible for Windows and Mac.
